Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial
A particular incident when Lal Bahadur was an infant is worth mentioning. When he was just three months and 12 days old, he was carried by his mother to a Makar Sankranti Mela – a fair on the banks of the river Ganges. She was carrying the child in her arms when all of a sudden she was pushed by the surging crowd, and the infant Nanhe fell out of her arms, instantly disappearing as if by magic in the flurry. Both parents were at loss. They couldn’t find the baby anywhere.
