Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial
On 21st October 1965 at village Urwa Maja,
Allahabad; Shastriji, the man of masses, gave the famous slogan to the nation, ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ (honour the soldier, honour the farmer).
There was scarcity of food grains in the country. ShastriJi gave the very popular slogan 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan' to enthuse the soldiers to defend India and simultaneously cheering farmers to do their best to increase the production of food grains to reduce dependence on import. By growing wheat in the lawns of his official residence, he became the institutional founder of India’s Green Revolution in the mid-sixties.
